Rockstar fall

For me, this fall is going to be a grunge, rockstar girlfriend kind of fall. (I’m the rockstar.)

After going back to work, I wanted to have some fun styling an outfit and spend a little time doing something for myself. I decided to try the skirt over pants trend I’ve been seeing all year. I know I’m a little late to the game, but I feel like this trend really works, and it’s something I’d wear regardless of what’s currently in style.

I love drawing inspiration from trends and wearing them whenever I want, even after everyone else has decided they’re out. Why should we stop wearing something just because the internet has moved on?

I paired a cute, ruffly mini skirt with my more alternative jeans, and a grungy band tee that I tied up in the back to give my silhouette a little more shape. For the outside clothes version of the outfit, I added my red jacket, which I talked about in a previous blog post. That jacket seriously seems to go with everything.

Finished off with a slouchy bag and my checkerboard Vans, this is the ultimate rockstar fall girl outfit.

Once again, I found pieces in my closet that I wouldn’t normally think to put together, and somehow, they just worked. That’s one of my favorite things about getting dressed. You can experiment with what you already own, try something unexpected, and end up with an outfit that feels completely like you.

I can’t wait to see what other fall outfits I come up with. This is one of my favorite times of the year, and it’s so much fun to experiment with clothes and figure out new ways to express yourself through what you wear.

Happy fall, fairies!
