I think people naturally want things to make sense.
When they see the way someone dresses, they start creating a picture of who that person is. A person who wears vintage dresses, bows, and feminine pieces must create soft things, right?
But my closet and my canvas have never really been friends.
The way I dress is one form of self-expression. I love feeling feminine, playing with different styles, and finding pieces that feel like they tell a story.

But when I create art, a different side of me comes out.
My art can be darker. It can be uncomfortable. It can make you stop and think. And honestly, I love that contrast.
I think there is something beautiful about being more than one thing. About being soft and still creating something hard. About loving pretty things while also being drawn to things that are a little more intense.
We aren’t just one aesthetic. We aren’t just one version of ourselves.
The same person who gets excited over a vintage dress can also create something completely different.
And maybe that’s what makes art so interesting.
My closet and my canvas might not look like they belong together, but maybe that’s exactly why they do.
