If you know me, then you know I’m a pretty active gal. Being born in the 2000s and spending a lot of my childhood in Texas (and with my mother being raised there), the rise of athletic clothing being worn as casual, everyday clothes fascinates me.
For me, growing up, those were gym clothes. The idea of wearing them after the gym to go to brunch without going home and changing was crazy! Today I’m going to show you how I style my gym clothes to hang out around my house, walk my dog, grab some coffee, and, of course, easily transition to the gym.
The most important staple for me personally is a pair of cute spandex shorts. My advice? Skip Target and go to your nearest stripper supply store. They have amazing workout clothes that I’ve personally found for much cheaper than what you’d find at Target. The pink shorts are from my local stripper store, but the brand is MONO B if any of you are interested. The pink tank top in photo 1 is also the same brand. The tank top is bamboo, and I prefer that if I’m out in the sun all day.
In photo 2, this is more what I would wear if I were running errands or going to get coffee with a friend. A casual graphic T-shirt that’s cropped at the waist and my pink spandex shorts. It’s also really easy to add fun jewelry to this look. A cool necklace or some shiny rings can really elevate the style. Shoes are up to you. I could style it with flip-flops, Vans, or, of course, tennis shoes.
What’s your favorite way to style athletic clothes? Do you wear them casually or only to the gym? Let me know!
