My fashion journey

My relationship with fashion started very young. I have always loved clothes, and I see them as one of the most obvious ways to express yourself.

Some of my biggest influences early on were honestly mostly tumblr girls and micro internet celebrities I don’t even know names of. I’ve always been inspired by the people around me and the creativity I see online, however, seeing myself in that got muddy.

I feel like I truly stepped into my own style when I turned 25 and deleted my social media. Sometimes having so many influences around you can actually make it harder to figure out what you truly like. When you’re constantly seeing what everyone else is wearing, it’s easy to start chasing someone else’s style instead of developing your own.

Once I stopped trying to copy other people and started wearing things simply because I loved them, I was surprised by how much my style changed. Without all the outside noise, I started dressing in a way that felt more ME!

Now, my biggest inspirations come from my friend Lara, clowns, court jesters, princesses, and punks. It sounds like a strange combination, but when you put it all together, you get the kind of clothing I love to wear.

Fashion is such a personal thing. It’s a way to show the world pieces of yourself without having to explain them.

So tell me, what’s your biggest fashion inspiration?
