One of my favorite things to do is dress up. Dress up, show out!
It allows me to really express myself no matter where I’m going. The grocery store, the bank, thrifting, or even work. Even though I have to change into a uniform once I get there, I truly believe how you show up impacts the rest of your day.
I feel like I used to hold myself back because I was worried about what other people would think. The older I get, the more I realize people really don’t care what you’re doing. They’re thinking about themselves. And honestly? They probably won’t even remember you five minutes later.
I also think people are much nicer in real life than they are online. We live in such an internet-focused culture that it’s easy to forget that. Online, everyone has an opinion. In real life, most people are just trying to get through their day.
Think about the last person you saw dressed differently. If you’re into fashion, I bet you only remember them because you thought they looked cool or their outfit inspired you. If you can’t think of anyone, that’s kind of my point. We’re all so focused on ourselves, as we should be. Someone else’s outfit doesn’t affect our lives.
And if seeing someone confidently dressed exactly how they want somehow bothers you… this probably isn’t the blog for you. I wore the outfit in Image 1 to my doctors appointment! Around here, fashion is about self-expression, creativity, and having fun. Life’s too short to save your favorite outfit for a special occasion.
So wear the dress. Wear the platform boots. Wear the glitter eyeshadow to the grocery store. Dress up, show out, and let yourself be seen!
